Single Vineyard
Description
The fruit for the Estate Chardonnay comes from the McIntyre and the Robinson Vineyards. It is barrel fermented (20% new oak) using wild yeasts, and spends 8 months in barrel, on lees. During this time it goes through a natural malolactic fermentation. The wine combines elegance, power and savoury complexity with a refreshing line of natural acidity.
Description
The Estate Pinot Gris is full bodied and dry. Fruit is sourced from the Garden and Osborn Vineyards. The wine is fermented in old oak, using wild yeasts, and goes through a full, natural malolactic fermentation in barrel. It shows yellow pear, quince and spicy notes on the nose and lovely weight and texture on the palate.
Estate Pinot Gris x 12
Description
This watermelon pink wine is made from 100% pinot gris. The skins of this variety have a deep coppery hue, and when we make our pinot gris using the same techniques as we use for pinot noir, we get this lovely light red wine. With a nose of strawberry, pink ginger and lifted florals and balsamic notes, on the palate the tannins are firm and the wine finishes dry and fresh. Terrific summer food wine – but don’t make it too cold!
Description
The Estate Pinot Noir is made up of fruit from the McIntyre, Robinson and Garden vineyards. It is fully destemmed and fermented, using wild yeasts, on skins in open-topped stainless-steel vats. After 19-21 days on skins, the wine is pressed off skins and goes to barrel, where it resides for the next 14-16 months. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined and shows dark cherry fruit, spice and herbal notes.

This single vineyard wine from our home vineyard in Derril Road is further evidence of what our fine vineyard site and mature vines can produce in a really good year. It includes some wine from interesting clones grafted onto our old Cabernet vines (planted in 1983).

The Garden Vineyard, across the hill from us, is owned by the McFall family and has been leased and run by Moorooduc Estate for over fifteen years. Fruit is hand picked and whole bunches placed directly into the fermenter.
Garden Vineyard Pinot Noir x6Description The fruit for our Shiraz is grown in the western end of the McIntyre vineyard. It produces concentrated, cool climate fruit, with aromas of blackberry, plum and black pepper. The wine is made using 100% whole bunches during fermentation which adds extra herbal, balsamic notes and firm, savoury tannins. A great expression of Shiraz from the cool, maritime Mornington Peninsula climate.
