Pinot Gris 6 Pack

Pinot Gris 6 Pack

For this pack, we have chosen 6 Pinot Gris (2 x 2012, 2 x 2013 and 2 x 2016)

2012 Garden Vineyard Pinot Gris

Who says pinot gris can’t age? This wine is looking better than ever. Golden coloured, with an evolving nose of beeswax and lanoline, honey and baked pears. Some bacon fat notes add a savoury twist to the aromas, while there is a richness and roundness that caresses the palate. Honey, spice, buttered cooked apples meld together, with a cheesy, nutty complexity and soft yet refreshing acidity rounds out the palate. Drink with perfectly ripe tallegio or another washed rind cheese and great bread. Heaven! YouTube tasting here.

2013 Moorooduc Estate Pinot Gris

Another lovely vintage,a little warmer and drier than 2012, resulting in more flamboyant, darker fruited reds and slightly richer whites than in the previous year. The defining feature of this vintage was a period of very warm weather over three weeks leading up to vintage. The ripeness of fruit and phenolics in the wines are a result of this pre-vintage weather. A vintage of perfume and juicy fruit, with great length, structure and depth. YouTube tasting here.

2016 Moorooduc Estate Pinot Gris:

Pale gold in colour with a rich nose of spiced pear tarts, with a hint of roasted almonds, grated ginger and ginger flower. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and savoury yet rich, with ripe yellow pear and quince fruit and tangy lemon and orange zest on the finish. A wine that is delicious right now and will match beautifully to goats cheese and onion tart, a slice of prosciutto or a piece of taleggio cheese. YouTube tasting here.

Packs hand delivered by the Moorooduc team to anyone in Metropolitan Melbourne, by Australia Post to anywhere else in Australia.
