You could pick two wines – say the 2017 Estate Chardonnay and the 2017 Robinson Chardonnay – same vintage, different tier – how do they differ and which is your favourite? Or perhaps a little vertical tasting – compare the 2017 and 2015 Single vineyard Chardonnays, or Pinots to get a better idea of how the different vintages have effected the wines.
Or, if you can work out a way to share this tasting with friends/neighbours* in lockdown, or if you are outside the Melbourne Metro area and can get some friends over to your house, why not open 3, 4 or all 6 wines and have a cellar door tasting experience in the comfort of your own home?
And remember, all of these wines will look fine on day two of opening (different) and if you have empty half bottles, get decanting to make the comparative tastings go twice as far – you are limited here only by your own imagination! Have fun!
* have you got neighbours you love having a drink with who you haven’t been able to visit during lockdown? Why not pour yourselves a glass, and pass the bottle – in an appropriately socially distant way – across the fence, then get on FaceTime, Zoom, Teams, Houseparty or whatever your favourite virtual platform might be, and have a tasting with them that way?’
For virtual tastings, our tasting videos will remain available through our News section, and on our new YouTube Channel ‘Moorooduc Estate Live’.
