2015 Robinson Chardonnay

2015 Robinson Chardonnay

The Wine.
This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isabelle Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road, celebrating the individual character of this special site.

Pale green gold with a crisp citrusy nose. Lemon and lime with honey notes. With chardonnay, we do not inoculate for malolactic fermentation, but we allow the wine to go through it as wants. In 2015 it didn't, so we see tangy green apple aromas in the mix.

On the palate, the wine is tight and fresh, with salted lemon rind and chalky flinty notes. Long and lean, the wine has lovely concentration of flavour, and a mouthwatering, grapefruity finish.

Match to freshly shucked oysters, or a steaming bowl of Jill’s Bouillabaisse – white fish, mussels and a deeply flavoured stock, with garlicky aioli to top it off.

A lovely vintage with great weather through the whole of the growing and ripening period, resulting in beautiful fruit, both white and red. The wines are well structured with delicious, crisp natural acidity, concentrated and balanced flavours and great length.
