We are absolutely flat out this vintage with beautiful fruit coming in fast and furious. I have just snuck away from my barrel washing duties (don’t tell Richard!) to remind you that the March Sunday lunch is coming up on the 29th March and we only have a couple of tables left!

As is the new policy, lunch bookings open a month before the lunch is on, which seems to be working well, despite the fact I am late emailing you!

The March lunch will start with a special cocktail on arrival featuring our freshly picked grape juice, with a mouthful of melon and prosciutto. Entree is a vintage favourite – a tartare of ocean trout, sushi rice, avocado and grapes, matched to our 2012 Estate Chardonnay.

For main a lovely piece of roasted fillet of beef with braised aubergines and potatoes and a broccoli salad – perfect with a pair of pinots!

Dessert will be Jill’s fabulous panna cotta with strawberries and citrus syrup.

Then after a coffee, you can stroll out and watch the workers (me, Richard, Jeremy, Roberto and our Canadian intern, Brendan) rush around making wine and you can feel that warm glow of knowledge that in a few years time, you can come back and drink the beautiful wines of 2015 you saw being made one Sunday lunch!
